A Journey Back in Time on the Levante Beach in Photos
From the fishing rod to the umbrella, with all the tourists who have seen with amazement the growth of this municipality, this article deals through the photos, the historical evolution of Benidorm in the Levante beach.
The “tourist boom” that started the tourist activity in the middle of the 20th century, with Pedro Zaragoza Orts, Spanish politician and Mayor of Benidorm, turned the tourist sector into the main driving force and economic engine of this town. In 1951 he promoted a new and modern urban plan for the period that would change the whole system forever, the main reason why it is remembered.
